TRUNK UP Red is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The Merlot and Malbec add structure, acid and bright red fruit flavor and spicy aromas. The Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot add texture, roundness and darker ripe fruit flavors and aromas to the blend. It has been aged in 35% new French oak for 20 months.
Garnet in color. Elegant aromatics of wild Blueberry and Huckleberry, rounded out with ripe plum and layered by subtle French Oak. On the palate, all of the bright, wild berry fruit is inundated with cocoa and a hint of tobacco. The palate is seamless from beginning to end, with balanced acids lending itself to aging well. Moderate tannins and silky finish. Our second effort is kinda yummy.
This wine offers really beautiful aromas of honeysuckle and lime. The mouth has subtle richness with intense flavors of grapefruit and white peach. Bright acidity gives a crisp finish of citrus and mineral. Some winemaking info: All fruit was picked cold & whole cluster pressed. The juice was clarified and slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks. It remained in tank on the lees (sur lie) for an additional 3 months. We produced only 95 cases from this amazing, sustainably grown vineyard in Napa Valley. Minimum order is 4 bottles.
